Toddler

Program Time: 7:30 am to 5:45 pm
Age Range: Children 18 to 30 months old
Fees: $1,329.12/Month

In this warm and friendly program we have twenty toddlers and four teachers. We have two rooms for the toddlers; the smaller Green room, and the Red room. The toddlers are encouraged to move freely around their rooms, enjoying the various activities that the teachers plan for them. There is a cozy book corner with a sofa to cuddle up on, a play kitchen where lots of imaginative play takes place, and the carpet area where the children play with doll’s houses or trains, cars and trucks. The toddlers also enjoy playing in the sandbox, working on puzzles, painting and gluing. At circle time they do finger plays, read stories and dance to their favourite songs. Weather permitting they play outside every day in their own little yard. Their nurturing teachers are always ready to give the toddlers hugs and comfort when they need it.

Junior Preschool

Program Time: 7:30 am to 5:45 pm
Age Range: Children 2.5 to 3.5 years of age
Fees: $1,057.68/Month

The junior preschoolers enjoy imaginative play in the play kitchen where they cook wonderful meals for their friends and teachers. In the junior preschool room there is also a book corner, a puzzle table, painting easels and carpet toys such as Duplo, toy farms and play castles. The children love to lay out train tracks on our Thomas the Tank Engine table. They participate in open ended art activities. Our junior preschoolers enjoy regular music activities, dancing and marching to their favourite songs. At circle time they are learning to sit with crossed legs and listen to stories. The children play outside first thing every morning and again after nap time. In the junior preschool program the teachers work on the many self-help skills that the children will need, such as learning bathroom routines, learning to clean up toys and learning to dress themselves. The teachers also work on pro-social skills such as turn taking and sharing, and learning to listen! As some of the junior preschoolers will be old enough to attend kindergarten in September the teachers also encourage the children to practice skills such as cutting, gluing and alphabet recognition.

Middle and Senior Preschool

Program Time: 7:30 am to 5:45 pm
Age Range: Children 3 to 4 years of age
Fees: $1,057.68/Month

In our middle and senior preschool classes the teachers focus on preparing the children for their transition to full day kindergarten. They work on teaching the children how to take turns, share toys, use their ‘gentle hands’ and their kind words, and generally how to get along with others. The children learn many of the skills necessary for kindergarten such as cutting, gluing, alphabet recognition and printing their names. The teachers also focus on teaching the children self-help skills (such as getting dressed for outdoor play), bathroom routines and good table manners. The children enjoy daily circle times, imaginative play, puzzles, art activities and plenty of outdoor play. The children usually play outside for the hour before lunch and then again after their afternoon snack.

Nursery School

Program Time: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Age Range: Children 2.5 to 4 years of age
Fees: $456.64/Month

5 mornings a week – All include snack and lunch.

Children with Special Needs

We are a community school and work in conjunction with Children’s Integration Support Services through Andrew Fleck Child Care Services. A number of children with special needs have been accommodated in the past on a case-by-case basis.
