The children are served a healthy snack at about 9 am. At 11.30 am lunch is served. After naptime the children have another snack. Our cook, Amy, has worked with a registered dietician to create a well balanced and nutritionally appropriate menu for the children. She bakes wonderful treats twice a week, such as pumpkin bread or banana chocolate loaf. Fresh fruit or vegetables always accompany these treats.
Parents are welcome to bring in small cupcakes for their child’s birthday. It is important to check with your child’s teacher for any food allergies in the program. These must be nut free as we have children at the BLC with life threatening allergies to nuts. We will also serve fruit with any birthday treats.
